The Ulysse Nardin Marine Tourbillon Grand Deck men’s watch is not only one of the most stunning pieces of luxury craftsmanship we have seen, but it can also be difficult to get your hands on. This luxury wristwatch from the Marine Collection is a Limited Edition, with only 18 pieces manufactured. If you find one available for purchase, you can be sure that you are going to be one of just over a dozen people on the planet to own one.

Power Source

This incredible Ulysse Nardin Grand Deck uses a UN-630 calibre manual winding movement as its power source. Featuring 48 jewels, this fine-tuned movement offers 48 hours of power reserve as well as a stunning look.

The Good

Released just recently in 2016, this special Ulysse Nardin timepiece has made a huge impression on the us at LuxuryWatches.io. This Swiss made, 18ct White Gold beauty features an unusual design that only Ulysse Nardin could accomplish.

The dial is made from hand crafted wood marquetry, which offers a true “Grand Deck” design that is fitting for this Marine watch. The matching 18ct White Gold bezel has an excellent, notched grip on the outer edge, and takes the backseat in terms of design — this watch pays all of the attention to the stunning dial face and features.

With a tourbillon at the 6 o’clock position, a jumping hour in a double window under 12 o’clock, and a lack of any traditional dial features makes this watch a true original. Stretching horizontal on a curve from the 9 o’clock position to 3 o’clock, are the minutes on a graduated arc. The beautiful blue minute hand (which is the only hand on this piece), sweeps across the dial from its origin point at the top of the case at 12 o’clock.

A timepiece of this calibre of course includes an integrated strap. The genuine blue Alligator leather has been hot in the past year or two, and it complement’s Ulysse Nardin’s love of blue and nautical designs. This blue leather perfectly complements the solid blue minute hand that sweeps the minutes in an arc across the main dial.

Both the main protection crystal and the exhibition back feature genuine Sapphire crystal that makes it a pleasure to view the dial and movement. This Sapphire crystal is both anti reflective and scratch resistant for superior viewing quality.

The Bad

There are no negative aspects that can be spotted in this flawless luxury watch.

Functionally, the Marine Tourbillon Grand Deck features a manual winding movement that will offer wearers with 48 hours of reserve power. Powered by a UN-630 calibre made in-house, this movement functions perfectly in terms of the unique hour and minute timekeeping. This watch also honours its Marine heritage by offering 100-meter (330 feet) water resistance.

The Highlights

The highlights are nearly impossible to list briefly because every millimetre of this timepiece is stunning. The attention to detail is beautiful, including the fine nautical strings that criss-cross the expanse of the wood dial.

The unique dial features a double window that displays the hour via Arabic Numeral(s), a transparent blue minute arc gauge, a solid blue minute hand, and a stunning tourbillon at 6 o’clock. Swiss craftsmanship never looked so good. Although the dial is currently unique, such has been the interest in it that other brands are starting to copy them. Emporio Armani watches is looking to release a similar model in 2018 for example.

This Limited Edition Ulysse Nardin only has 18 of these beauties floating around the world – but you can still get your hands on one if you have the money.

This men’s Marine Tourbillon Grand Deck (Model: 6300-300/GD) retails for $280,000. However, as you know, these retail values do not hold firm in today’s economy and you can easily purchase this UN masterpiece for around $190,400.
